Il poveretto racconta di essere vittima di un folle esperimento del dottor Sano che lo ha mutato in un uomo capace di trasformarsi a piacimento in un essere informe, gassoso; confessa di aver ucciso Sano in uno scoppio di ira e poi, avendo preso familiarità con la sua nuova strana condizione, di avere svaligiato alcune banche... e ucciso qualche altro malcapitato.
