This band was always a paradox. Hailed in the USA as an obscure underground band, but too 'bubblegum' for many British buyers. On the one hand they were known for raging live-sets including the smashing of TVs, while on the other hand their music always showed a high-class pop sense that brought them several top ten hits (the most famous are probably "Blackberry way" and the charming "Flowers in the rain"). Nowadays the've somehow wrongfully become one of the forgotten English bands of the late sixties. If you never heard them but like the more psychedelic phase of The Beatles, The Kinks or The Small Faces, go and look for this sampler!
The Move became the Electric Light Orchestra at the beginning of the 1970s and mastermind Ron Wood left to release some (of course eccentric) solo records.
Highly recommendable for any 60's pop fan.
