Dal lavoro di Rand Ravich, già creatore di Life e Crisis, arriva una nuova serie che per tematiche non si discosta troppo dalle altre opere dell'autore.

Ma se Life raccontava la "nuova" vita del poliziotto Charlie Crews dopo 12 anni di prigione, e Crisis puntava a un "nuovo" concetto di moralità e legalità a fronte di una crisi internazionale vissuta da un agente dei servizi segreti al suo primo giorno di lavoro, Second Chance si spinge ben oltre.

Ucciso nel corso di una rapina a casa del figlio, Jimmy si risveglia nel corpo di un uomo completamente diverso ma, nonostante la nuova vita che gli viene offerta, tende a ripetere gli stessi errori di quella precedente...

Tratta dall'omonimo film del 2014 diretto da Susanne Bier, la serie mescola avventura, azione e tecnologia con il dilemma morale che coinvolge tutti coloro con cui il "nuovo" Pritchard entra in contatto, e sfida continuamente lo spettatore: se avessi una seconda occasione, ti comporteresti diversamente da come hai fatto? Faresti scelte diverse, assegneresti un differente ordine alle tue priorità?

La prima stagione di Second Chance, composta da 11 episodi, si concentra su questi interrogativi.


Il cast di Second Chance, che ha per protagonista Robert Kazinsky
Originariamente, la serie era stata intitolata "Frankenstein", per sottolineare il suo legame con il tema del "Moderno Prometeo" di Mary Shelley.

Il titolo venne poi cambiato, ma il cognome dei gemelli milionari appassionati di tecnologia (i Goodwin) fu scelto per rendere omaggio proprio alla Shelley, che da ragazza si chiamava "Godwin".
