Synopsis

Founders and Producers of Resto my Ride, Dec McKearney and Sam Martin had watched car restoration shows on television and always wondered why Australia never produced their very own. Dec and Sam own and run “Resto’s and Rods Garage” a successful car restoration business and often spoke about the need for an Aussie version of the hugely successful shows that they were watching from overseas.

In 2015 Dec and Sam came up with the concept for Resto my Ride. Dec, a very skilled car builder and Sam a Marketing Executive combined their resources and committed to producing the pilot show “Resto my Ride – EJ for EJ”

Within a few short weeks the team garnered the support of some awesome Aussie brands and in only 10 short weeks the restoration of an 1963 EJ Holden was documented, filmed and gifted to charity and the pilot episode of Resto my Ride was complete.

And that was just the beginning of Resto my Ride…

Dec and Sam lead the helm each day at Resto’s and Rods Garage. Transforming old cars back to their former glory with Irish banter and an Aussie twist.

With time not usually on their side and things not always going to plan, the team turns everything from family heirlooms to barn finds in to Resto’d Rides.

And no matter how busy or crazy the schedule is, no matter how close the deadlines are, you can bet that Team Resto is always having fun. Travelling on red dirt roads to white sandy beaches of iconic Australian towns and meeting the car crazy people of Australia and coming back to the workshop to Resto everything from Australian made cars to unique imports from around the globe.

Episode 5 - Two For One Mustangs

An insurance company asks Dec and the team to build a custom 1968 Ford Mustang for a car show, but only gives them 10 weeks to do it. In the middle of the build, the team heads to SEMA in Las Vegas, Nevada, and comes back to more work than they expected.
