Linux Mint 17 Qiana is a distribution based on Ubuntu 14:04 Trusty that has the long-term support (LTS will be supported until May 2019) and is available in two versions: Mate and Cinnamon, which differ mainly from the desktop and pre-installed applications. With Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon Qiana we will have all the improvements and updates included in Ubuntu 14:04 LTS Trusty such as the new Kernel 3.13 10 Mesa, updated drivers, improvements to the support for Nvidia Optimus Prime thanks to tools and so on. Among the updates are the Cinnamon desktop environment updated to version 2.2, a major update that as well as increased stability also includes the new System Settings / System Settings, the new manager of the lock screen / screensaver and power management, support for display to high pixel density HiDPI and other news.



With Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon Qiana are several improvements to the update manager and software center, note the integration of new details for each individual package and application.

Other new features include driver manager that allows you to install drivers without an internet connection, allowing you to install proprietary drivers included in Linux Mint ISO. Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon Qiana MDM also enhances the display manager with the ability to easily customize the wallpaper, the default theme has been revised and includes support for HiDPI.



With Linux Mint 17 arrives the new manager of unified languages which, in addition to facilitate us to install the default language of the operating system, will also be available and LMDE XFCE and KDE versions.
