Through the eyes of young Laura, we follow the fortunes of the inhabitants of both

These are turbulent days. The Victorian era is ending and with the approach of the
twentieth century English society changed greatly. Also in the life of Laura
happening.
If she gets a job at the post office in Candleford, she reluctantly leaves the village
of her youth.
In her new environment they will soon face an internal conflict.
On the one hand, they remain loyal to her family.
But on the other hand, cherishes them bi jzondere feelings for her new boss, Dorcas.
