Una giovane ragazza con un futuro luminoso, con la prospettiva di lavorare nell’azienda di famiglia, dopo la morte del padre scopre segreti che la portano a decidere di voler fare giustizia una volta per tutte. Si trasforma così in “The Woman” (Kate Bosworth), misteriosa assassina, che comincia a seminare il terrore in un piccolo villaggio del Montana in cerca di vendetta. Nessuno conosce la sua storia, né la profonda motivazione che la spinge ad agire, ma tutti sanno che finire sulla sua lista vuol dire rischiare la vita. Guidati dal terrore e dal panico di dover fronteggiare un pericolo sconosciuto e inarrestabile, gli abitanti della città cercano un modo per fermare la giustiziera senza nome.
