Two hundred million years ago, it`s ancestors lived only on the land. But it, and other animals like the hippo found advantages in the half submerged life. For members of the crocodilian group, the crocodiles, caimans, and alligators, the water proved well-stocked and the crocks who could stay down the longest proved the most successful hunters. One breath can sustain an eighteen-foot crocodile for up to an hour.
They outlived their dinosaur cousins to terrorize a modern age. A family of cold-blooded killers, masters of the watery ambush. The oldest reptiles on earth, the crocodilians date their success back to the dawn of dragons.
