This is Texas blues veteran Johnny Mack’s debut CD "Gave Myself The Blues". After an illustrious career primarily on the regional blues circuit, this Texas crooner threw his hat into the international blues ring with the effortless virtuosity of a seasoned artist.
Johnny Mack’s "Big Blues Shoutin’" vocals coupled with his "Gator-Rockin’" rubboard, ooze with a Nitelife authenticity that exemplifies the tradition of the North Texas blues scene. In fact, Johnny "The Mack" won popular Ft. Worth Weekly’s write-in vote for Blues Artist of The Year 2003.
In this debut CD, Johnny’s not alone in his quest to capture Ft. Worth’s famous "Funky Town Sound". He enlisted the area’s most dedicated "Nitelife Krewe" including Paul Byrd, James Hinkle, Beerbelly Slim, Edd Lively, Johnny Reno and Kenny Traylor, among the notables staying true to Ft. Worth’s rich musical tradition, running the gamut of Swamp Pop, Western Swing, and Low Down Blues.
