Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure is a point-and-click adventure balancing on the edge of comedy and horror, inspired by the classic productions of LucasArts studio, the work of H.P. Lovecraft and films of Alfred Hitchcock. Independent studio Stuck In Attic from Transylvania is responsible for creating the game. The game was released on the PC platform and its production was supported by a crowdfunding campaign on the Kickstarter website.

Story
Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure is set in the Transylvanian town of Darkham, inspired by the atmosphere of Transylvania, where strange things have been going on for some time. The cause of the whole commotion turns out to be the legendary Necronomiconknown from H.P. Lovecraft's short stories Book of the Dead with powerful power. Gossip about its alleged discovery is spread by mysterious cultists, worshipping the Great Ancient of the Ages. During the game we follow the fate of three characters: private detective Don R. Ketype, who was ordered to find the book, and young librarian Buzz Kerwan and his cat, thanks to the power of Necronomicon accidentally changed into a "talkative degeneration". Each character is guided by his own motives, and on the way to get a cursed book they are confronted with the aforementioned cults, ancient voodoo, and even Cthulhu himself.

Mechanics
Stuck In Attic studio production is a tribute to the cult adventures of LucasArts such as Day of the Tentacle or Monkey Island series. In terms of mechanics, the title combines classic elements of the genre with solutions known from modern adventure games, such as a modern interface, automatic recording system or the option of highlighting key items for the story. During the game we play alternately in three characters, and it focuses on exploration, conducting dialogues, collecting objects and solving riddles, pushing the story forward. There are absolutely no arcade sequences in the game.

Technical issues
Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure, released on the PC platform, features colourful, hand-drawn 2D graphics and traditional time-lapse animation, typical of adventures from the 1990s. However, the whole has been adapted to the current HD standards. It is worth mentioning a large dose of black humour and attention to detail, manifested, among other things, by a few alternative comments on the player's attempts to research and combine objects. All dialogues have been sounded, and the gameplay is accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack, offering different musical motifs for virtually every location.
