This movie (Directed by Martin Scorsese) won the academy award for best Picture that year.

There has certainly a Hobbesian like reality that provides the background to this picture in historical terms
I fear to have to say.

Man has lived through such periods of uncertainly and insanity with respect to threats of brutal violence and the experience
of it additionally, often in periods of merciless bloodletting and cruelty (as is evident too in the movie Titus which
we have coming to you soon starring Mr Anthony Hopkins) that little remains of all too many men in regards to real human
functioning anymore and instead its actually just feigning and superficial politeness that remains all too often as such
men seek to vent their condition which results from all this, through negative functioning which mainly includes radiating
hatefully as a result in some bid to express a need to be even with the environments that cause such dysfunctionalities
to be present.

Men who have weathered well through all this have done so because they have the strength and human intelligence and
rationality to survive with sufficient human conscience and wherewithall to put into perspective the madness that has
existed on the planet during times of outbreak of wars or even periods of existence in essentially a "state of nature" where
little regard for laws or the concept of civil society had come to be as of yet.

Men who are good in their true natures and are strong enough to face the challenges posed by having to confront
evils that arise in their midst set against their better nature will provide the best model for what is to come in the
sustenance of human life on the planet in a manner that will stand the test of time, weather the storms that are
inevitable given the nature of man as it exists in others that oppose good and decent spirits on the earth.

There are certainly subtitles files at various subtitles sites for this movie, I ripped the English subtitles
off the blu-ray disc which had a bunch of OCR errors i had to fix individually to make them usable
for those that need them, and i found Swedish subs on the net for you, just in case the ones
on the disc for Swedish etc had too many OCR errors as well to begin with on this disc  - as they
are in fact already on the net it seems in most cases in any event. Didn't see any HD italian subs
on the net or on the blu-ray disc we got except for a DVDrip version at subscene. Good luck all of you
in making your subs work - the Swedish ones we found for on the net at opensubtitles for 1080p worked
like a charm with no adjustment..
