The setting is the underground lair of Devil's Gate, home to the ruthless and extremely powerful King Hades Yen (O Yau Man). Yen instructs the '7 Monsters Of Poison' to find Lo Tien Hung who apparently has a secret Jade Pendant.
This Jade Pendant bears markings as to the whereabouts of a manuscript which yields great powers to the person who manages to get hold of it. The 'Monsters 7' have 10 days to find Lo Tien Hung or face the wrath of Yen...
This is a very entertaining and colourful old skool flick containing a fair amount of bloodletting for it's time as well as some fun displays of super human abilities from most of the cast.
Characters fly, catch blades between their teeth, turn invisible and punch boulders in half all with the greatest of ease!
The film rarely lets up either with the 7 assassins never really allowing the heroes of the film to pause for breath. There is always a pursuit or fight around the corner in this one.
The main character that the film revolves around is Chen Shen (Cheung Ching Ching) whose life Lo is responsible for after causing the death of her entire family at the hand of the 7 assassins.
I have to say that the child actor who plays Chen Shen is absolutely superb and appears to be enjoying every minute of her physically and emotionally demanding role.
Some time later, Chen Shen finally learns the powers from the hidden manuscript and sets off to take on Yen and his Monster Of Poison in Devil's Gate.
