So although Don McLeans magnum opus was

American Pie

the title track was by no means the strongest song in this song-cycle, nor was it the most radio friendly
The deep tracks that are much more poignant are 'The Grave', 'Winterwood' and 'Empty Chairs'.
Indeed 'Empty Chairs' was the song that inspired 'Killing Me Softly'...yes this was 'His Song', that killed Lori Lieberman softly.

This is the definitive 2003 remastering that also includes 2 bonus tracks-that admittedly are expedible. Its the first ten that cement this wonderful album.
The remastering quality is also magnificant. You do not need 24-192 HD re-re-re-remastering, anymore than you need 16K TV.
