I highly recommend checking out the modding scene for this game. They can add a lot of new characters, and gameplay options. There are many websites out there that will let you download steam workshop mods.

Multiplayer does not work. However, that is not the focus of the game so you aren't missing much. You can still do The Butcher's Circus against AI.

You can change this by editing the force_account_name.txt file.
