Valerie è una bella ragazza tormentata da una scelta d'amore. E' inamorata di Peter, un vero e proprio outsider, ma i suoi genitori hanno già organizzato un matrimonio di interesse con il benestante Henry. Non volendo perdersi, Valerie e Peter hanno deciso di scappare via insieme ma all'improvviso la sorella maggiore di Valerie viene uccisa dal lupo mannaro che vaga per la foresta intorno alla cittadina. Da anni, infatti, la gente del posto mantiene una difficile alleanza con la bestia, offrendogli in pasto un sacrificio animale ad ogni luna piena.
