TRAMA:
Prodotto dalla Blumhouse di Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Split), Amityville: Il risveglio è il nuovo terrificante capitolo della saga horror ispirata al romanzo di Jay Anson, Orrore ad Amityville.
Belle (Bella Thorne) si trasferisce con la famiglia al numero 112 di Ocean Avenue, nella cittadina costiera di Amityville. Il prezzo vantaggioso col quale sua madre (Jennifer Jason Leigh) riesce a ottenere l'abitazione, permette alla donna di far fronte alle costose cure mediche del figlio James (Cameron Monaghan), gemello di Belle in stato comatoso, e prendersi cura della sorellina minore Juliet.
Quando la liceale comincia a essere evitata dai compagni di scuola, additata e presa in giro da ragazzi più grandi, un amico (Thomas Mann) le suggerisce la soluzione al mistero: anni prima, la vecchia casa coloniale in cui si è appena trasferita è stata teatro di un tremendo omicidio, a opera di un ragazzo problematico guidato da sinistre voci nella testa. La gente del luogo perciò pensa che la casa sia infestata, occupata da spiriti e orrende creature demoniache che plagiano le menti degli inquilini spingendoli alla follia. Tormentata da spaventosi incubi notturni e vivide allucinazioni, di fronte anche alla guarigione miracolosa di suo fratello, Belle si rende conto che i racconti morbosi degli abitanti di Amityville nascondono un fondo di verità.
STORYLINE:
Belle, her little sister, and her comatose twin brother move into a new house with their single mother Joan in order to save money to help pay for her brother's expensive healthcare. But when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house including the miraculous recovery of her brother, Belle begins to suspect her Mother isn't telling her everything and soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.
