Synopsis:
[SIZE=3]Rajan & Sajan Mishra of the Benares Gharana. Two brothers, twovoices, but truly one soul. Together, they have redefined the term Yugalbandi in Hindustani Classical Music. This documentary traces their musical journey, from their eearly training under their illustrious grandfather Pt. Bade Randas ji Mishra and then their father Pt. Hanuman Pd. Mishra to their flowering and finally the establishment of their Gurukul in Dehradoon. The documentary also brings out the special characteristics of the Benares Gharana and has rare archival footage and compositions of Benares Gharana.

This is a documentary made by a lover of Music. It just lets the music flow and allows the two maestros to tell their own tale, with no voiceover or explanatory interjections from the Director. Indeed, it wasn't necessary, for Pt. Rajan Mishra and Pt. Sajan Mishra themselves trace their evolution and who can do it better. Embellished by some rare compositions from the Benares Gharana, this is an intimate look at the lives and the music of two of our most loved artistes.

Uploader's Notes:

This is a quality DVD with some beautifully recorded pieces from the repertoire of Pt. Rajan & Sajan Mishra. It's further accentuated by some imaginative and evocative cinematography by Tribhuvan Sadineni. This is a documentary to be preserved.

The CVD itself was oversaturated and sometimes the brightness hurt the eye. We have toned the colours down a bit and made it more watcgable. The use of 10-bits X265 encoding allowed us to compress the video to just 500 MB with no loss in picture quality. This is despite keeping the original AC3 sound track.
